Author of 'Fanny by Gaslight' under pseudonym of Michael Sadleir.
Being an author and publisher Sadleir wrote a biography of his father. In 1889 Michael Sadler went to Zermatt on holiday and there he met A.D. Tupper-Carey and a friend, both mountaineers with whom he (Sadler) went climbing.
Tupper Carey lately an undergraduate at Christchurch Oxford "was at this time at Cuddeston preparing to take Orders. He became in due course my father in law, and died in 1943, one month before Michael Ernest Sadler." (Michael Ernest Sadler, a memoir by his son Michael Sadleir, Constable London 1949 p. 106). |
