Educated at Elizabeth College, won Queens Exhibition; College No. 705; studied law at Universite de Caen, France, obtained the Diplomas of Bachelier 1851; Licencie 1852; Docteur-en-droit 1854; called to the Guernsey Bar 1854; Queens Procureur 1883; Bailiff of Guernsey 1895; Captain, Royal Guernsey Militia, unattached,1859 ; Hon. Sec. Ladies College, Guernsey, from its opening in 1872 till 1882, then Patron; Director of Elizabeth College 1864-70, 1871-7, and 1879-81.
In 1874 he bought the Rozel property from Albert Carey (Hc14).
Knighted in 1900 by Her Majesty for services as Bailiff of Guernsey. |
